God’s grace works within us, giving us both the desire and ability to live in a way that pleases Him.
After receiving salvation, those who have experienced God’s grace are called to live a life aligned with His will. As Romans 1:17 reminds us, “The righteous will live by faith.” This faith transforms our beliefs and actions as we strive to live as followers of Christ.
The letters of Paul, such as those to the Romans and Corinthians, were written to guide believers in their Christian walk. Romans 4:5 emphasizes, “He who does not work but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness.” Paul consistently points out that salvation is a gift of grace, but our lives after salvation must reflect this transformation.
In Romans, Paul asks, “Shall we sin so that grace may abound?” He answers emphatically, “By no means!” Instead, we are called to offer ourselves to God, living as those who have been brought from death to life, using our bodies for His purposes. Our freedom in Christ is not a license for self-indulgence but a call to righteous living.
Building on the Foundation of Christ
1 Corinthians 3:6-8 reminds us that while Paul planted the seed and Apollos watered it, it is God who gives the increase. Every believer must nurture the seed of faith through hearing the Word and growing in righteousness. Paul describes this process as building upon a foundation, with Jesus Christ as the cornerstone (1 Corinthians 3:10-15). The materials we use—gold, silver, or wood—represent the quality of our works. These will be tested, and only what endures will be rewarded.
Our faith, actions, and service must be grounded in Christ, as He is the unshakable foundation. Through Him, we receive eternal life, and our work in His kingdom becomes meaningful and fruitful.
Called to Serve
God calls us not just to believe but to act. As Philippians 2:5-8 states, Jesus humbled Himself, even to the point of death, for the salvation of humanity. His humility and obedience are the model for our lives. Are we willing to serve others, to step out of our comfort zones, and to share the Gospel with passion?
Jonah 1:12 reminds us of God’s authority over all who believe in Him. He gives those who receive Him the right to become His children. With this identity comes responsibility—to live for His glory and to proclaim His truth.
A Mind Like Christ
Philippians 2:1-13 encourages us to be of one mind, united in love and purpose, with the mindset of Christ Jesus. Humility is essential to fulfilling God’s will. Jesus, though God, did not cling to His divine status but emptied Himself, taking on human form to save us. In the same way, we must humble ourselves, putting aside pride and self-interest to serve God and others.
The Great Commission
God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. Are we aligning ourselves with this divine will? Often, fear, pride, or laziness hold us back. Yet, if Christ is in us, His desire to save souls should propel us forward. Whatever we do for His kingdom, let us do it with passion and unity, trusting that He will work through us.
Building Together
Let us use our strength, gifts, and resources to build on the foundation of Jesus Christ. As one body, united in purpose and empowered by His Spirit, we can lead others to salvation and grow together in faith.
