A Shared Journey: Divine Appointments
Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch had a divine encounter—a shared journey that was no accident. It was orchestrated by God to meet a deep spiritual longing and to reveal the truth of the gospel. Their story reminds us that God still arranges divine appointments today, where hearts are opened, questions are answered, and lives are changed through the power of His Word
Why is
the gospel
a shared message?
1. Because the Gospel Is Good News, Not Private News
The word “gospel” literally means good news — not a secret, not a philosophy, but a public announcement that Jesus Christ has defeated sin and death.“Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” – Mark 16:15
If something changes the world, it must be shared. The Gospel is meant to be heard, believed, and responded to, freeing hearts that are under the power of sin.
2. Because Jesus Commanded It
Jesus gave His followers a clear mission:
“Go and make disciples of all nations…” – Matthew 28:19
The Gospel is a message God intends to spread through us, not keep to ourselves. We share because He sent us. Every believer should carry this heavy, important task from God to share the good news.
3. Because Faith Comes by Hearing
People don’t naturally understand the Gospel — they hear it from someone else.
“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” – Romans 10:17
No matter how powerful the message is, it remains unheard unless it is spoken.
4. Because It Offers Salvation to All
The Gospel isn’t just helpful advice — it’s the only way to be saved.
“I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.” – Romans 1:16
If we truly believe it’s life-saving, love compels us to share it with others.
5. Because Lives Are Transformed Through It
The Gospel changes lives — it brings forgiveness, freedom, purpose, and eternal life.
Every time we share, we invite someone to experience that transformation.
“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.” – Romans 10:15
The Gospel is a shared message because it’s the hope of the world. It’s God’s rescue plan — too important to hide, too powerful to keep quiet.
